8”x12” Acrylic and Spray Paint on Birch Wood Frame
Original Artwork by Cha Wilde (2022)
I painted this one quickly during a livestream for my studio members. I felt intuitively drawn to playing with blue that day. I had just purchased a bundle of new paint colors and while walking around the art shop I had a vision lingering in my imagination. I could see a blue background and something purpleish in the middle. My husband is always emphasizing how much he likes my paintings when the background is a solid color with subtle textures and tonal changes and then some eye catching colorful explosion happens in the middle of true canvas. Inspired by his descriptions of what “makes my paintings powerful” and eager to create something that would bring a smile to his face, I created this little painting. Sticking with one color in the background challenges me because I’m so eager to play with the whole rainbow. I satisfied my wild side by whipping to life the multi-colored psychedelic fancy focus point; I think I used a stick (one of my favorite tools) to fling the paint into this colorful metallic pattern that reminds me of a sea creature, a jelly fish or some crazy hair style. I succeeded…when my husband saw the painting he loved it and encouraged me to add yellow along the bottom to compliment the blue. Voila!✌🏼🌈 love, Cha
